The mission of Pacific View Charter School is focused on the success
of each student and genuinely involves parents in the education of their children. The school is committed to providing appropriate physical space, materials, qualified personnel, and staff development in order to guide the learning of its K-12 students. These efforts take place in a safe and healthy environment.

The school takes pride in its history of highly qualified and dedicated staff. These educators welcome your input, and view education as a partnership between home and school. The school’s reputation and success rest on parental involvement. Students are provided an education personalized to his or her abilities.

Our School

Pacific View Charter School, located in Oceanside and Moreno Valley, is a WASC accredited, tuition free,  charter school serving grades K-12 in San Diego, Riverside, Orange and Imperial counties. PVCS offers the flexibility of multiple learning models. Our students have access to an independent study – home school format using a blended personalized learning model, combining classroom time with independent learning. Our students are supported by credentialed teachers who provide one-on-one, face-to-face instruction and an extensive offering of online classes.

  • As a year round school we offer High School summer classes beginning in July
  • K-4th grade students are offered a Home Study Program, led by a credentialed teacher, with whom parents and students meet with biweekly.
  • 5th-8th grade students can choose from the following options:
    •  A 4 day onsite classroom with the 5th day Home Study or a Study Lab on-campus (Oceanside Campus Only)
    • A 5 day Home Study Program
  • Small Workshop-based instruction led by highly qualified teachers are available for 9th-12th grade students.

History

Pacific View Charter School was established in 1999 to provide an alternative educational opportunity for students in San Diego County and adjacent counties. The school opened its doors with 120 students and has grown to approximately 600 students. In 2008, PVCS moved to a new and larger facility to accommodate the continued growth and expansion of its programs. Pacific View Charter School embraces the blended learning model and believes in the success of each student. Parents are a critical part of the team approach used to assist each student in achieving his/her academic goals.

Parent involvement and building positive relationships is the foundation of the program.

The school is committed to providing a safe and exceptional learning environment utilizing 21st Century tools, resources and curriculum. Highly Qualified Teachers guide the learning process through current research and methodologies.

Vision

Students at Pacific View Charter School use technological tools and research based curriculum to achieve personal and academic success. In a Personalized Learning environment, the students develop 21st Century skills to be prepared for college and the workforce. Pacific View Charter School students are global communicators who listen, speak, read and write in an effective manner. The individual needs and learning styles of students are accommodated through personalized learning.

Core Values

The Personalized Learning Model We believe that creating an Individualized Learning Plan for students that encompasses the development of 21st Century skills and content knowledge will prepare them for success in college and the work force.

Parental Involvement We believe parents are an integral part of the student’s personal and academic success. Pacific View Charter School partners with parents in the education of their children and in the governance of the Charter School.

Students Succeeding in the 21st Century We believe it is critical that students develop learning and innovation skills in the areas of creativity, critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and collaboration. Curriculum that utilizes information and communication technology (ICT) literacy tools, and media will prepare students for the 21st Century.

Fiscal Solvency We believe our history of prudent use of fiscal resources is essential to the vision and mission of the Charter.

Accountability We believe that student achievement is a critical indicator of our success at Pacific View Charter School. We are committed to the success of each student through the compilation and analysis of student data and researched based programs and interventions.
